Early Treatment

boysThe American Association of Orthodontists recommends that a child see an orthodontic specialist by age seven. Children at younger ages (7-11yrs) offer the most opportunities to utilize important growth stages to intercept or correct common dental and jaw problems. We find the children to be extremely cooperative, fun to work with and very willing to assist in making changes in their smiles.

Not every child is in need of early orthodontic treatment, and is simply placed on a complimentary recall phase in our office. During this recall phase, a patient is seen at pre-determined intervals (usually every six to twelve months) so that Dr. McElhinney can monitor the child's dental development and jaw growth until orthodontic treatment is indicated.

Our young patients are enthusiastically made members of our exclusive early observation club called the MAC PAC. Mac Pac members receive a special attention and fun benefits only available for our younger patients.
